Michael Osis, Sales Specialist At Waste Cost Solutions Sits Down For A Holiday Chat

Michael Osis • Dec 02, 2021

In The Spirit of The Season, Waste Cost Solutions Would Like To Introduce You
To Members Of Our Family, Who Mean The World To Us…

Meet Michael Osis, Sales Specialist at Waste Cost Solutions. Born and raised in Neptune Township, New Jersey, a community adjacent to Asbury Park, Michael is a big fan of New Jersey music legends Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi. In 2010, Michael moved to Florida at the age of 19 and has remained a Florida resident since. After first working in the restaurant business, Michael went into the private security industry and later started a career in marketing, primarily in the behavior health sector, substance abuse and recovery.

Michael recently started working for Waste Cost Solutions in September 2021. “Waste Cost Solutions is a new experience for me. I never realized the waste industry was this big. When I met Michael (Mintz), I immediately knew he was someone I liked and trusted, and someone I could definitely work hard for. It’s nice to have a good company you can be at with more of a purpose, too.”

A single father, Michael has two daughters who live with him: Nevaeh, an eight-year old turning nine this month and a five-year old, Mikayla. The Osis family will be spending the Christmas holidays at their Florida home.

“Usually for Christmas, my Dad comes to town from New Jersey and spends time with the kids, who are off from school. It’s a little crazy in our household. This year my brother Brandon is coming down too. We’re planning to stay at the house and have a nice holiday. While we have a few traditions, we have a traditional New Year’s Eve, which also coincides with Naveah’s birthday. What I like most is waking up with the kids on New Year’s Day and just hanging around.

Traditional Holiday Food:

“Every year my family always orders Chinese Food. However, every Christmas morning we would normally go to my Grandmother’s house and she makes a Breakfast Casserole, which we eat most of the day. It’s sort of like a brunch meal. I’m hoping to make it this year. It has eggs, cheese, sausage and bacon in it. There is also some kind of bread in it too.” In addition to being a great cook, Michael’s Grandmother is also extremely tech savvy. She worked as an engineer with ATT and Cingular Wireless for the telecom company.

Fondest Holiday Memory:

“Waking up on Christmas morning, my parents gave us the world basically and we would wake up to a crazy amount of presents in the living room. Later, we would hang out with my 5 brothers, sisters. I always looked forward to spending Christmas with my family. My father was a teacher and he was off, so we would spend a lot of time together. It was a nice time.”

Favorite Holiday Song:

“Santa Claus is Coming To Town by Bruce Springsteen. I’m a Jersey Boy and he’s a Jersey Boy, so it fits. I grew up on a lot of music that revolved around Bruce. Plus, when I was about nine years-old, I was in a school holiday play and I played Clarence Clemons on Sax.”

Favorite Holiday Movie:

“Home Alone hands down. As a kid I grew up watching it and the idea of being home alone for the holidays always resonates with me even today.”

Holiday Resolution:

“I usually have not thought about it. I sometimes make a resolution a few weeks before. Ten years ago I made one and actually stuck to it. However, if I have to choose one it would be to increase the quality of my relationships with others.”
