Eight Dead Skunks Create A Stink At A Farmington Hills Michigan Restaurant
The phrase “Smell like a skunk” often refers to a foul, offensive odor similar to the stinky, musky one that the furry mammal emits, generally when in danger. While the notion of dead skunk invokes even worse olfactory notes to the senses, the idea of eight dead skunks is certain to have everyone within a close radius running far away. A restaurant in Farmington Hills, Michigan recently experienced this phenomenon in of all places: their exterior trash dumpster.
Someone disposed of the eight dead skunks in the Farmington Hills restaurant’s dumpster overnight. The next morning, after experiencing a horrible stench surrounding the location, a restaurant employee discovered the dead skunks in the dumpster, which was situated fairly close to the establishment itself.
The Farmington Hills restaurant immediately closed and soon contacted Waste Cost Solutions to help resolve the issue.
“We first contacted the regular hauler, who could not handle the issue, since the dead animals were considered hazardous waste. Animal control would not take dead animals, since they were not alive. Due to the situation, the Farmington Hills restaurant remained closed for three days. We were able to have the
exterior dumpster swiped out with a new one after the dead animals were removed. In addition to losing revenue over the three day period that they were closed, the
restaurant incurred costs close to $1,500 for the dead animal removal and a new swiped-out dumpster,
